How To Find Us

How We Teach

Light Years Child Development Center has adopted “The Creative Curriculum” as a teaching strategy.  The Creative Curriculum is widely regarded as a forward- thinking, comprehensive, rigorously researched curriculum approach that honors creativity and respects the role that teachers play in making learning exciting and relevant for every child.

The curriculum balances both teacher-directed and child-initiated learning, with an emphasis on responding to children's learning styles and building on their strengths and interests. It’s a curriculum that is educational in areas of child development and most of all its fun. Our focus areas are sensory, awareness, creative and expressive arts, dramatic play, block building, fine and gross motor manipulation, language and reading skills, outdoor play, music and movement, science, and discovery learning. The activities will allow children to develop and thrive as they learn, while developing an appreciation for diversity.
